Bee AI Review (2026): Frontier Features, Privacy, Plans, and Alternatives
A source-based review of Bee Frontier, Bee Eclipse, Bee Pro, privacy, storage and Comu alternatives.
Which Bee are we talking about?
The name Bee now covers hardware, plans and developer tools. Pioneer is the earlier wearable discussed in 2025 and early 2026 coverage. Frontier is the current wearable product. Eclipse is a separate magnetic phone device. Basic and Pro describe software access, not different recorders.
| Product or plan | Status | What it is for | Boundary to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bee Pioneer | Legacy / transition product | Earlier Bee wearable and software experience. | Older hardware and plan terms do not describe Frontier automatically. |
| Bee Frontier | Available | Wristband or clothing clip for everyday capture, summaries, search and insights. | $74.99 hardware; Basic history is listed as 14 days. |
| Bee Eclipse | Not launched | Magnetic phone device for phone calls and nearby conversations. | Do not transfer Eclipse phone claims to Frontier. |
| Bee Basic | Available plan | Conversation summaries, recaps and short-term memory. | 14-day history limit. |
| Bee Pro | Subscription | Longer history, desktop access, suggested to-dos, integrations and other paid features. | $11.99/month or $99.99/year as currently listed. |
This table reports current product and plan pages. It is not a lab test.
What is Bee designed to do?
Bee starts with a personal memory problem. You may remember that a conversation happened without remembering the wording, the promise or the detail you need. Bee's software turns captured material into summaries, searchable memories, Daily Insights, suggested to-dos, Voice Notes and Actions.
Amazon's current product material describes Actions that can draft emails and create calendar events. Daily Insights look for longer patterns. Voice Notes handle quick ideas, while templates organize common types of conversation. Bee therefore produces more than a transcript, but it also creates more material to search, review and govern.
Bee is most convincing when the alternative is forgetting to record a small but important moment. It is a different proposition from a recorder that starts with a planned meeting and ends with a work document.
Frontier in daily use
Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. Bee's current product page describes a button to start and stop capture, a green recording indicator, a long press for a Voice Note and a double press to bookmark an important moment. The page lists 7+ days of battery, IP67 water resistance, two microphones with noise filtering and 40+ languages.

The form factor makes recording easy to start, but it changes the social setting. A wearable can remain on your body while people nearby may not know whether it is capturing. The LED communicates device state; disclosure and local consent requirements still apply.
Battery: continuous hours and usage days answer different questions
Comu Action Pro publishes continuous recording hours. Bee publishes a multi-day usage estimate. A seven-day estimate does not mean a microphone can record continuously for 168 hours. Actual calendar time depends on recording intensity, silence timeout, noise and syncing. Treat the figures as different measures.
What Eclipse changes
Eclipse is a thin magnetic phone device. Bee and Amazon describe it as a phone-mounted product for recording both sides of a call and nearby in-person conversations. The current product page lists a 4.6 mm form, roughly three weeks of battery, a button and an LED. A call recording also requires permission from the call participants.

Eclipse's call capability should not be used as evidence that Frontier records both sides of a phone call. Eclipse has not launched yet. If phone recording is the reason to buy, evaluate the exact phone, region, app and headset setup you use after launch. The official Eclipse material does not establish Bluetooth headset recording.
Basic, Pro and the first-year cost
Bee's hardware price is only the first part of the decision. Basic currently lists summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory. Pro is listed at $11.99 per month or $99.99 per year, with unlimited memory and broader software access. New devices are listed with a 30-day Pro trial. Confirm the current checkout terms before purchasing.
| Scenario | First-year hardware and plan cost | What the current public plan suggests |
|---|---|---|
| Frontier + Basic | $74.99 before tax | Core summaries and a 14-day history window. |
| Frontier + annual Pro | About $174.98 before tax | Unlimited memory and Pro features as currently listed. |
| Frontier + monthly Pro | About $218.87 before tax | The monthly plan paid for twelve months. |
Compare the history window, recording volume and connected actions you will actually use. A lower hardware price can disappear once a paid history plan becomes part of normal use.
Where Bee needs caution
Ambient capture creates more material to manage
More capture gives you more chances to recover a detail. It also produces more summaries, irrelevant audio and decisions about what should remain searchable. The product needs a review habit. Without one, a larger memory can become another inbox.
Personal memory is not the same as formal meeting minutes
Formal records often need named speakers, decisions, owners, due dates and a review step before sharing. Bee can produce useful summaries and suggested actions. The public materials do not establish that every multi-speaker room will produce a client-ready record.
Speaker and language claims are published specifications
Bee lists 40+ languages and dual microphones with noise filtering. Those figures do not establish accuracy across accents, room layouts or professional vocabulary. Test the languages and rooms that matter to you during the return window.
Frontier, Eclipse and Pioneer have different histories
Older Pioneer reviews may describe different hardware, pricing and app behavior. Eclipse's phone claims apply to Eclipse. A current Frontier purchase should be judged from Frontier's current product page and plan terms.
Bee Private Compute: what it protects and what it does not
Bee describes audio as being processed and deleted, while encrypted transcripts and summaries remain available for the memory features. The Private Compute paper describes a client that verifies an attested Confidential VM before releasing scoped processing keys. ASR, model inference, embeddings, memory and search are intended to run inside that attested environment. Ordinary storage receives ciphertext and metadata.
This is a cloud privacy architecture. It does not mean every operation occurs on the wearable. It does not remove client compromise, approved-code bugs or the retention rules of a third party that receives data after the user authorizes an integration. The paper's server-key expiry window is separate from the Basic plan's 14-day history policy.
Desktop, CLI, API and MCP
Bee's software layer extends beyond the wearable. Bee for Desktop can provide a larger-screen memory workflow. The CLI can export conversations, facts, to-dos and daily summaries to local Markdown. The API exposes search and related context. The MCP server connects Bee to MCP clients such as Claude, Claude Code and Codex.
A local connector does not make the whole Bee system local. The connector may run on your machine while Bee's processing, encrypted storage and account permissions remain governed by Bee's cloud architecture. Treat developer tokens and local proxies as production credentials.
Bee and Comu answer different recording questions
Bee Frontier asks how to remember more of the day without opening a recorder for every small event.
Comu Note Pro and Comu Action Pro ask what should happen after a selected recording. Both products offer search and summaries. Comu's published workflow adds real-time transcription, speaker recognition, AI insights and outputs for emails, documents, slides, tasks and action plans.
Comu Action Pro is the stronger published specification for dedicated meeting capture: six-microphone adaptive capture, a physical AI Button, a published 70-hour recording claim and a 7-meter pickup claim. It also supports phone-call recording, with AirPods and similar headset mode scheduled for November 2026. For meeting hardware and deliverables, Action Pro is the clear Comu choice.

Comu Note Pro is the lighter, longer-recording option with 64GB local storage, up to 45 hours of recording, a 27.6g body and free basic transcription and summaries. Action Pro is approximately 52g, while Note Pro is 27.6g. Both Comu devices can also attach magnetically to the back of a compatible phone and record phone calls. Bee Frontier’s current product page does not publish a gram weight; its advantage is the wristband or clip form.

Comu's Starter plan currently lists unlimited basic transcription and basic summaries. Comu does not meter local recording or basic transcription by minutes. Cloud meeting storage includes 3,000 minutes at no charge; storage beyond that allowance is paid. Translation, deep analysis and Agent workflows have plan limits or Agent Credits. The Comu Trust Center distinguishes local recordings, optional Cloud Backup, cloud notes and deletion controls.
Choose Bee when...
You want a wearable timeline, everyday recall, reminders and personal context. You accept ambient-capture consent duties and the Pro plan if 14 days is too short.
Choose Comu Action Pro when...
You need real-time transcription, structured summaries, AI insights, speaker labels or a follow-up email, document, deck, task list or action plan. Phone-call recording and the November 2026 headset mode cover work beyond the conference table.
Choose Comu Note Pro when...
You record long sessions and want a lightweight 27.6g device, local capacity, long battery life, phone-call recording, basic transcription and summaries without starting with the deeper Agent workflow.
How to test Bee before keeping it
- Record a quiet one-on-one conversation and check whether the summary keeps the commitments that mattered.
- Try a multi-speaker room and a walk outside. Look for omissions, speaker confusion and irrelevant context.
- Search for a detail three days later without using its exact wording.
- Connect only the calendar or email account you are comfortable testing. Check which Actions need confirmation.
- Export and delete a test item, then check the app, desktop client and connected service.
- Before the return window closes, decide whether 14 days is enough for your actual use.
Final verdict
Bee Frontier is a coherent ambient AI product. The wearable, memory timeline, search, insights and Actions all serve the same daily-recall job. The product is most persuasive when the problem is a forgotten idea, promise or detail.
Its limits are part of the purchase decision: Basic history is listed as 14 days, Pro adds a recurring cost, ambient recording requires care around other people, and room performance still needs personal testing. Eclipse should be judged separately because it is a different device with a different phone-oriented setup.
For planned meetings, multilingual transcription and work outputs, the Comu comparison covers hardware, history, price, phone calls and the job each device is built to handle.
